Challenging games have been around since the dawn of gaming.

In the early days of gaming, the Nintendo Entertainment System offered some of the hardest games ever seen, and they still bring forth a challenge to this day. But in the seventh generation of home game consoles, gamers were introduced to the most frustrating, rage inducing games ever to be sold. Its name: “Dark Souls.”

In October of 2011, “Dark Souls” was released for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC. It is an action adventure role playing game. It was met with critical acclaim, and is considered to be one of the greatest games of all time.

Fans of the series know that the games are not for light hearted or casual players.

Will Simmons said, “One of my favorite parts of the game is the difficulty. I love the combat and the sorcery.”

The game has a focus on boss fights, being one of the main concepts present in the game. There are 12 mandatory bosses in the first game, and 17 in “Dark Souls 2.”

Casey Boswell said, “My favorite boss fight in the series was the Burnt Ivory King.”

The second game, “Dark Souls 2,” was released on March 11, 2014. It improved on nearly every aspect of the previous game, and added even more challenging enemies and bosses. If the second game was not hard enough for you, then the developers released an even harder version, named “Scholar of the First Sin.” It added enemies, added all the DLC, and made the game harder in general.

The developers, From Software, are planning to release Dark Souls 3 on April 11. This game is going to improve all aspects of the game, and add more content and make the game even more enjoyable for the fans.
