Top five NBA players
by Gage Davis
With the NBA not even 20 games through the season, the NBA is just warming up and the players have started to warm up. Most people don’t see how talented you have to be to go into the NBA, and how much work you have to put into. These top players are amazing and they can’t be stopped.
5. Dwayne Wade
Wade has been with the Heat his whole career and he has done pretty well with them. Last year the Heat acquired Lebron James and big man Chris Bosh, but still Wade has done awesome throughout his career and that’s why he is at number five for the top players of 2011-2012 season. Wade averages 5 APG, 26 PPG, and 7 RPG. Not bad for a shooting guard, but for Wade to win another championship he has to get his teammates to work together more.
4. Dwight Howard
Howard has been the big man for the last couple of years leading his team to the conference finals, and being a slam dunk champion for a couple years. Howard doesn’t have a championship ring on his fingers but that’s because he never really had the team to help him out for the last couple of years. Howard averages 24 PPG, 3 BPG, and 15 RPG. Howard is waiting for his trade to take place this year so that he can go play for the Lakers or maybe Clippers, and be dominating and win that championship.
3. Derrick Rose
Not too much of a surprise here with Rose being third on the list, but that’s because he has been just too good for anyone to handle since he has been in the NBA. Rose was the first person to win an MVP award in Chicago since Jordan back when he won the 7 championships. Rose averages 8 APG, 25 PPG, and 5 RPG. Rose is probably the most versatile point guard ever to enter the league. Most believe that Rose will bring the Bulls good luck and bring them a championship in the couple few years, and he has the team to do it with.
2. Lebron James
The people in Cleveland are not too happy with Lebron since he did leave them, but I would have left them too if I was the best player doing everything for the team and I haven’t got an NBA championship yet. Lebron is a winner, but in order to get a ring on that finger of his, he had to get out of Cleveland to get one, so him and Bosh went to Miami with Wade. Since he has been in Miami they have done some spectacular things and bonded really well. But Bosh and James are still looking for that championship. Lebron averages, 27 PPG, 7 APG, and 8 RPG. Most people predicted that the Heat will win a championship within the next two or three years.
1. Kevin Durant
Well to me this was not a surprise at all, the kid is just unbelievable, and he can do anything that he puts his mind to. He makes every shot and he can get to the goal like no other player. The dynamic duo of Durant and Westbrook are the best duo most likely ever to play the game. Yes, almost better than Shaq and Kobe, but they both can score and they both can’t be stopped. Durant averages 28 PPG, 2 BPG, and 8 RPG. Durant won the scoring title last year; let’s see if he can pull it off this year.

I have a lot of problems with you're top five, but everyone has their own opinions. I would have definitely put Lebron and Dwight Howard ahead of Durant. I don't believe that Durant and Westbrook are the best duo in the NBA now, much less of all time. No one will beat out Jordan and Pippen for that title.
Nice list Gage. I want to see Derrick Rose be the #1 player in a few years.
Durant is a monster, and its not my top 5 its espn's.
Great top five list Gage. All of these players could have great seasons.
I dont really follow basketball but i enjoyed reading your article. Great picks for your top 5
This was an interesting article to read because I know virtually nothing about basketball. But I do hear a lot about these players and now I know a little more about them.
