How the light display stole Christmas
by Maddy Heavener
I’ve been looking forward to going to Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland ever since I heard about it on the radio. But last week I found my way to the admission booth and really faced a toll.
You enter through the main BB&T Coastal Field gates on Robert Grissom Parkway. Upon reaching it, you’re told to turn your radio to 101.1 FM, turn on your parking lights, and pull forward.
So what is it? Simply put, it’s a very large “‘tis the season” lights display synchronized with holiday music provided by your car.
During the drive to the booth I was thinking, what if you are poor and just want to see beautiful Christmas lights in tune with the beat of the music, but you have no radio? This looks like a problem. Well, the solution is if you’re poor, you aren’t getting in because Santa is very hungry for money this year.
Per carload, the expense is $25.50, and I need that money to give presents to my friends and family. So sorry Shadrack, but I guess I’m not checking out your boughs of holly this year.

Wow, that is expensive I thought it would be like 10 bucks or less... I don't think it is worth 25.50 that is crazyy. I could put my own light show on with that.
Its 25.50 for the whole car, I went and for a car packed its pretty cheap. But the show wasnt that great they played the same songs over and over. I didnt enjoy it at all.
My mom asked me if i wanted to go to this. I was going to go with her. But, now i dont think i want to. ha ha Sorry mom! Well, it is good to know it is not worth it so i do not waste my time or my money! Thanks!
I'm not a fan of Christmas at all, or Christmas carols so I probably wouldn't go to that. Although I'm not in the holiday spirit, I think the lights and stuff would be pretty cool.
Wow I had no idea it was $25.50. I'm so glad I didn't waste my money on christmas!
